We are due back at 16.20 at XP school.
X31 Fieldwork: Thursday 20th March
We are excited to announce that our upcoming fieldwork to the Staffordshire Regiment Museum is just around the corner! To ensure that all students are well-prepared for the day, please take note of the following important details.
Students should arrive at school promptly at 7:45 AM. This will give us time to organise the group and prepare for our departure. The group will leave school by 8:15 AM to travel to the Staffordshire Regiment Museum. Please ensure that your child arrives on time so we can adhere to the set schedule.
All students are required to bring a packed lunch for the day. For students eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), lunch will be provided. Parents should ensure that their child has a drink for the day. There are no cafe facilities on-site at the museum, so if a student forgets their drink or lunch, it cannot be replaced. The drink for the day should be water, as per our school policy, which prohibits fizzy drinks.
As the museum visit involves a bit of walking, we recommend that students wear comfortable shoes to ensure they can participate in all activities without discomfort.
A warm coat is also essential for the day, as the majority of the visit will be spent outside. The weather can be unpredictable, and we want to ensure that all students stay warm and comfortable.
Students will leave the museum at approximately 2:30 PM, and we expect to return to school by 4:00 PM, traffic permitting. Please be mindful that traffic conditions may cause slight delays, but we will keep parents/carers updated.
In Summary:
- Arrival at school: 7:45 AM
- Departure for museum: 8:15 AM
- Packed lunch required (unless FSM, where lunch is provided)
- Drink required (parents to ensure their child brings one)
- Comfortable shoes and a warm coat are advised
- Return to school: Approximately 4:00 PM
We look forward to a fantastic day exploring the history of the Staffordshire Regiment and experiencing everything the museum has to offer. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thanks,
Year 7 Expedition Team
Crew Brunel: World Book Day!
This World Book Day, Crew Brunel brought Alice in Wonderland to life by dressing up as iconic characters from the classic tale. From Alice herself to the Cheshire Cat, the team fully embraced the playful magic of Wonderland while promoting the joy of reading. Their creative costumes were a fun way to inspire imagination and encourage everyone to explore the world of books.

Well done, Crew Brunel!
Miss Mitchell

Crew Lovelace
During crew hour on Wednesday this week as a crew we had decided to make pancakes together. Watching the students collaborate in the kitchen, share responsibilities, and enjoy the process together was a great reminder of the positive relationships we’re continuing to build within our crew.
It was nice to see how they supported each other—whether it was flipping pancakes or deciding on toppings. These moments of teamwork help strengthen communication and trust among the crew members, creating an atmosphere of cooperation and friendship. It’s a simple, yet effective way for them to bond and grow as a team.
We’re excited to continue these positive connections in future Crew Hour activities, as they help build a strong foundation of mutual respect.
Keep it up Crew Lovelace, I wonder what we can make next term?
Thanks Miss Askin

Experience of the workplace C28 launch
My name is Kathryn Burns and I am the Careers Lead for XP Trust. I have the pleasure of launching our C28 to students, crew leaders and parents on Wednesday 12th March 4pm – 5pm. Parents and students to meet on XP East stairs where I will share information about expectations, responsibilities and support.

As you may already be aware, in year 10 our students carry out a short experience into the world of work to support their preparation for GCSEs and moving forward as they progress through Year 11 and beyond.
This year we are planning a week off timetable 7th – 11th July with a wrap around the work experience to give them a taste of applications, interviews and workshops alongside the external experience, followed up by a reflective piece of work and CV building.
As a trust we feel that it is important for our students to experience this alongside qualifications and other activities beyond the classroom, such as the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. Our aim has always been to support parents in developing young people who are able to communicate, have resilience and the transferable skills that the business community are looking for in today’s society.
I look forward to seeing you there as our young people step up and show local employers how amazing XP Doncaster students are.

Support for Parents
As many agencies now ask for parents to have engaged with services such as Early Help or parenting courses before being placed on a pathway or seeking professional support, we are sharing this information we have had in the hope of supporting parents.
We hope this is of use.
