Hello everyone,
This week, we had the privilege of hosting the Conversation Club at our school, where we learned about the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. It was eye-opening to discover that they receive just £50 a week to cover essentials like food, clothing, and hygiene products.
One of the significant expenses they encounter is transportation, which can cost up to £5 a day. This is a considerable amount given their limited budget. However, we realised that having a bike could eliminate this expense entirely, providing them with free and reliable transportation.
To help make a difference, we are organising a bike drive. We are reaching out to our community for donations of any old bikes that you no longer need. Bikes in any condition (unless completely broken) can be incredibly valuable. At XP we pride ourselves on our curriculum themes and our outward facing work, and this is opportunity for our Crew to participate in both!
You can drop off your bike donations at XP/E, and we will ensure they reach the Conversation Club, who will distribute them to those in need. Your generous contributions will be greatly appreciated by the refugees and asylum seekers and will help ease their daily struggles.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
Warm regards,
The Students of C29
We are currently holding GCSE Art coursework from students who left us in the Summer term of 2023. As part of our preparations for the new academic year we’ll be disposing of this work if it’s unwanted. If you would like to take your sketchbooks and final pieces from the coursework or exam projects then please get in touch with us before the end of next week, Friday June 28th.
You can contact school or anyone in the Arts team and we’ll set your work to one side. You can come to collect it at anytime, please just let us know beforehand so we can get it into the office for you to collect.
I have emailed information to C26 parents regarding their next couple of weeks – please do check this!!
Parents are also invited to attend the C26 Leavers event from 3:30pm next Friday, 28th June 2024, where we will hold our final community meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Students at XP Gateshead are stepping up in a big way as Digital Leaders, diving into the world of technology to record content for their Expeditions. Teaming up with the XP Trust Comms Crew, these young tech enthusiasts are taking on the role of professional sound technicians. They’re not just learning the ropes of audio recording and editing – they’re skilfully mastering them, gaining hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom and reaching into real-world applications.
It was so inspiring to see these students get stuck in and take charge of such an important project. Across our Trust, students are constantly proving that with enthusiasm and dedication, they can achieve anything. A massive appreciation to these Digital Leaders for going above and beyond!
A new curation of recent beautiful work has been installed in the Frenchgate Centre in Doncaster City Centre! There’s awesome work from schools across our Trust, with a key focus on our Curriculum seam ‘Protecting our Planet’ – be sure to go and see the awesome work our students have created!

We took a number of students from year 9 across both schools to a rounders tournament last night. We were able to enter 2 teams which was incredible. One team played amazing and developed throughout the tournament to win their last game in the group stage however did not manage to get to the semi finals.
The other team played fantastic and got the semi final where they scored 8 rounders and got through to the final against Hall Cross. The final was a great game and we scored 7.5 rounders to beat Hall Cross and win the whole tournament. The team played outstanding and scored some amazing rounders. It was a proud moment for us as teaching staff. Huge well done to the team, some fantastics performances.
WELL DONE YEAR 9
Tonights rounders tournament for year 9 please pick up at Hall Cross lower school at 5.30.

As part of our crew mission, and our current expedition product, crew headed out to the lake at Doncaster Lakeside to clean up the area – and protect the wildlife in the water! We had some great conversations around why keeping waterways clean is so important.
We managed to collect 6 bags full of litter from around the area – in only 15 minutes!!!
We’ll be heading back out soon to continue this work – it’s so important for us, and helps us to have a positive impact on our community! Great work, team!
…P.S…. George has absolutely nailed the ‘disapproving look’ after seeing the amount of litter around the area – he’s Mr Morrison’s double!!!
