Badminton Finals

Our KS3 and KS4 badminton teams recently competed in the Doncaster Schools Finals, showcasing their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship. Although we may not have come away with the victory, every player should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

Throughout the tournament, our learners demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and determination against strong competition. Their performances reflected the hard work they have put in during our weekly extracurricular sessions, and their commitment to improving their game has been inspiring to see.

Beyond the results, what truly stood out was the way our players conducted themselves, supporting teammates, respecting opponents, and playing with passion. They represented the school excellently.

A huge well done to everyone involved! This experience will only make us stronger as we continue to develop and grow. Here’s to more success in the future—both on and off the court!

C27 Fieldwork to Wabtec

On Tuesday 25th and Wednesday February 26th 2025, Year 11 will be taking part in fieldwork to Wabtec Rail – the former Doncaster Plant Works site.

This fieldwork has been planned to support their learning in History – to support their GCSE exam knowledge,  and is a brilliant opportunity to bring the students’ learning to life in an exciting and engaging way. The experience will be used to support learning back in the classroom to help the children better understand the content and develop a deeper understanding of the Doncaster Plant Works, ready for their GCSE ‘History Around Us’ exam this summer.

Tuesday 25th February: Mrs Elliott’s class will depart school at 9:15am and our expected arrival time back at school is 11:30am. Mrs Hannam’s class will depart school at 1:15pm and our expected arrival time back at school is 3:15pm.

Wednesday 26th February: 11 Skipper will depart school at 9:15am and our expected arrival time back at school is 11:30am. 11 Admiral will depart school at 1:15pm and our expected arrival time back at school is 3:15pm.

Lunches will not be affected by this fieldwork. We have secured a coach to take us to and from Wabtec Rail.

Students will need the following equipment: charged devices, pen, pencil, ruler, water bottle – and anything else needed daily.

If you have any questions about this fieldwork, please contact me on [email protected] or get in touch with your child’s crew leader.

XP/XP East cheer squad Explosion had the opportunity to work with Outwood Danum academy to showcase their cheer routines and take part in a stunt workshop. The students in the cheer squad have been working really hard since September to develop their skills and this showed during the workshop. It was an amazing evening of fun, enjoyment and new learning. We hope the cheer squad continues to grow and develop.

Well done everyone

Jodie Buckley

The X29 expedition team are excited to share that XP students will also be embarking on a fantastic fieldwork opportunity as part of our You Give Me Fever expedition. On Friday, 31st January, students will visit the Thackray Museum of Medicine in Leeds to explore the incredible history and development of medical practices.

Here are the essential details for the day:

  • Date: Friday, 31st January
  • Location: Thackray Museum of Medicine, Leeds
  • What to bring: A packed lunch, a coat, a bag, and a pen
  • Timing: Fieldwork will occur during the school day, with students expected back at school for regular collection times (traffic permitting).

This visit is an excellent chance for students to connect their learning in the classroom with real-world examples, enriching their understanding of how medicine has evolved over centuries.

We kindly ask for your support in ensuring students are well-prepared with the necessary items for the day. Thank you for helping to make this an inspiring and educational experience for everyone involved. We look forward to hearing all about their discoveries!
